Argao is a first municipal income class municipality in the province of Cebu, Philippines. It is located in the southeast of the province of Cebu, 68 km (42 mi) from Cebu City. Argao is exactly midway between Cebu City and the southern tip of Cebu island, Santander. It is comprised of 45 barangays.

Argao was declared as the top tourist destination in Cebu. This is because of the increasing number of visitors who are interested to see the controversial place. The town is famous for its mouth-watering torta, lip-smacking tableya, and sweet tuba beverage. You must not forget to bring some when you return to your place because these make your stay complete.

The name Argao dates back to the Spanish period. Locals claim that their hometown got its name from a tree called Sali-argaw, which are abundantly in the coastal areas of place during that time. The town of Argao is considered as one of the oldest towns in the province of Cebu.

How to get there:

Argao is 2 hours ride from the City of Cebu with a distance of 66 km. If your point of origin is Mactan International Airport or Cebu pier 1-6, you can ride a Taxi directly going to Argao or if you’re a budget oriented traveller, you can ride a Taxi from the Airport going to SM City Cebu and from SM you can ride a jeepney via (12G/01K) going to Cebu South Bus Terminal/ from pier 1-6 you can ride a jeepney going to South Bus Terminal (12J) with the fair of 7 pesos and after now, you can ride a bus going to Argao. With a fair ranging from 85-100 pesos (Bus),1,000-1,500 pesos ( Taxi ). Inside Argao there are different transportation that we can use like bus, tricycle, sikad, motorcycle, and the multicab. These are the main transportation of Argao that we can use so we can reach the different attractions. But if you go to the attractions which are far from the town center you can only ride a motorcycle.
